È stato un anno brillante per Lamar che solo pochi giorni fa ha festeggiato il doppio platino per il suo album Damn. Agli Mtv Video Music Awards concorrerà, tra le altre, per Artista dell’anno, Video dell’anno per Humble e Best hip-hop. Katy, invece, con il suo Witness si conferma la donna con più nomination: tra tutte Best Pop. A pari merito con lei The Weeknd, sempre a quota cinque nomination.

Le nomination degli Mtv Video Music Awards: per la prima volta categorie senza genere

Gli Mtv Video Music Awards 2017 segneranno un cambio di rotta rispetto agli anni precedenti. Sparisce, infatti, il genere nelle categorie presenti. Assenti Best male e Best female con i premi che verranno assegnati indipendentemente dal sesso dell’artista. Complice di questa scelta, forse, la presenza maggiore nell’ultimo nelle classifiche degli uomini. I premi verranno assegnati il 27 agosto al Forum di Inglewood (Los Angeles) in California. Appuntamento alle ore 20. In Italia la kermesse potrà essere seguita nella notte tra il 27 e il 28 agosto.
