Agli Emmy Awards trionfo per ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, nessun premio per ‘The Young pope’

Bene anche per 'Big Little Lies', 'This is Us' e 'Veep'

 ROMA – Emmy awards in rosa, verrà ricordata così la 69° edizione del più importante premio televisivo a livello internazionale. A trionfare infatti sono state ‘ The Handmaid’s Tale’, ‘Big Little Lies’ e ‘Veep’, tutte serie in cui, per tematica e composizione del cast, prevale la componente femminile. Grande delusione invece per la miniserie ‘The Young Pope’, diretta da Paolo Sorrentino, che non ha vinto nessuno dei premi a cui era candidato.  Miglior fotografia e miglior design, infatti, sono stati assegnati a ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’. 

Il trionfo di ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, racconto distopico prodotto da Hulu (una delle ormai numerose piattaforme digitali) e in onda in Italia in esclusiva su TIMvision, ha collezionato in totale 8 statuette (compresi i Creative Arts Emmys Awards della scorsa settimana). Tra queste quelle per Miglior serie drammatica e Migliore attrice protagonista di una serie tv per Elisabeth Moss, che nella serie interpreta Offred (in italiano Di-fred), l’ancella letteralmente schiava del Comandante di Gilead. La serie è tratta dal romanzo “Il racconto dell’ancella”, dell’autrice femminista Margaret Atwood, e racconta di una società distorta, Gilead appunto, in cui vige un regime totalitario e misogeno, in cui le donne sono forzate alla riproduzione allo scopo di ripopolare un mondo devastato da catastrofi naturali.

Tra i vincitori ‘Big Little Lies’, ‘This is Us’ e ‘Veep’

‘Big Little Lies’ della HBO è stata un’altra delle serie che si è distinta in questa edizione degli Emmy, trionfando in sei categorie. Tra le statuette più importanti quella per Miglior attrice protagonista di una miniserie che è andata a Nicole Kidman, tra i produttori della serie.

‘This is Us’ della generalista NBC si è aggiudicato invece il premio per Migliore attore drammatico, andato a Sterling K. Brown. Un traguardo non da poco visto che tra gli “avversari” c’erano due colossi: Kevin Spacey per ‘House of Cards’ e Anthony Hopkins per ‘Westworld’. A Veep, in onda attualmente su Sky Atlantic, la statuetta per la Miglior commedia. Entra nella storia la sua protagonista Julia Louis-Dreyfus, al suo sesto Emmy consecutivo vinto. L’attrice comica ha trionfato nella categoria Miglior attrice in una commedia.

Durante la serata non sono mancate risate e prese in giro nei confronti di Donald Trump. In tema con lo spirito della premiazione, Alec Baldiwn ha vinto un Emmy per la sua interpretazione del presidente degli Stati Uniti (come attore non protagonista in una serie comedy) in ‘Saturday Night Live’.
